Our Mission

GolfClothing.com exists to answer the question every golfer eventually asks: What should I actually wear? Not in the abstract — at this course type, in this climate, with this budget, for this body type.

The golf apparel market is noisy. Every brand claims superior performance. Every polo is "tour-inspired." Every jacket is "waterproof." Most of these claims are technically true in controlled conditions and meaningless in a real round of golf. We exist to cut through that noise.

Our guides are built around a simple premise: we wear what we recommend, on actual courses, across multiple rounds, before publishing a verdict. No exceptions. If we haven't played in it, we haven't reviewed it.

We cover men's and women's golf clothing across every price tier — from budget-friendly options under $50 to premium brands at $200+. We maintain guides for extended and plus sizing, because the golf apparel industry has historically underserved those categories. We write style guides that explain dress codes at every course type, because nothing is more frustrating than being turned away at the pro shop.

How We Test Golf Clothing

Our testing protocol is straightforward and non-negotiable:

On-course wear testing. Every reviewed piece of clothing is worn for a minimum of two complete rounds before we draw conclusions. For footwear, we require 36+ holes before judging comfort, traction, and waterproofing performance.
Wash testing. We put reviewed items through 20+ wash cycles before assessing durability, color retention, and fabric performance. Golf clothing that fades, stretches, or pills after five washes doesn't make our recommended lists.
Multiple testers. Fit is personal. Our team includes testers with different body types, swing styles, and course preferences. A polo that fits perfectly on a 5'10" tester may not work for a 6'3" or a 5'6" tester. We document these differences.
Climate variety. Golf clothing is worn in wildly different conditions. Our testing spans humid Southern summers, dry desert heat, cool Pacific Northwest mornings, and cold-weather fall rounds. Performance in controlled conditions tells us little.
Seasonal updates. Golf apparel lines change every season. Our guides are reviewed and updated at minimum twice per year to ensure current pricing, availability, and product lineup accuracy.

Our Team

GolfClothing.com is produced by a small team of writers, editors, and testers with direct experience in golf, apparel, and editorial media. No generalist content farms. No AI-written reviews of products nobody tested.

Editorial Principles

Our editorial independence is non-negotiable. The following rules govern every piece of content we publish:

  • No paid rankings. No brand can pay to appear in our "best of" guides. Rankings are determined entirely by testing performance and editorial judgment.
  • No gifted-only reviews. When brands send us product samples, we disclose it. But gifted samples are treated identically to purchased gear — they earn no preferential treatment.
  • No affiliate-influenced verdicts. We maintain affiliate relationships with multiple retailers. These relationships never influence which products we recommend or how we rank them. We recommend the best product regardless of commission rate.
  • No "sponsored content" masquerading as editorial. If a brand has paid for placement on this site, it will be labeled "Sponsored" in a format that cannot be mistaken for editorial content. We have no current sponsored content arrangements.
  • Corrections policy. When we get something wrong, we correct it prominently and explain the change. Our guides carry a "Last updated" date so readers can assess currency.

Affiliate Disclosure

GolfClothing.com participates in affiliate advertising programs. When you click a product link marked as an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships exist with retailers including Amazon, Golf Galaxy, PGA TOUR Superstore, and brand-direct programs.

These commissions are how we fund our testing, writing, and editorial operations. They do not influence our recommendations. We would rather recommend a product with no affiliate program than a worse product that earns us a higher commission.

All affiliate links are marked with rel="nofollow sponsored noopener" and routed through our /go/ redirect system for transparency. You can always see where a link leads before clicking.
